How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying star Michael Urie will star as a gay business partner in the new CBS half-hour pilot Partners, according to Deadline.com. The new multicamera comedy by Will & Grace creators Max Mutchick and David Kohan will be directed by James Burrows.
Partners focuses on two lifelong friends who are also business partners. One friend is straight and one friend is gay. Sophia Bush joins Urie as the other business partner’s fiancé. No further casting has been announced.
Urie is best known as Marc St. James on the TV series Ugly Betty. He has appeared off-Broadway in Angels in America and The Temperamentals. Urie currently stars as Bud Frump opposite Nick Jonas in How to Succeed.
